Peter Alvarado (XRAY) took the TQ early in the first round of qualifications. Right after the sixth lap Alvarado traction-rolled trying to push his NT1 with big tires, passing the track near to the loop. He decided to wait for the second and third car, but recovered his starting position on lap 19 and never looked back. With a flame out 20 minutes into the race, but still with enough space he finished with 1 lap over 2nd Franco Machado who flamed out on lap 16 just like the 3rd place Yamil Ruiz who had problems earlier.
